Week 14 - Day 61
Monday
Looking at the back of the house from the yard. New siding is going up where the back door once was. As we have multiple layers of shingles, it seems to be an artistic endeavour to make it look nice.

Monday
My new tub and toilet came today and the tile for bathroom has been picked so that should make Will and the plumber happy, as they need that in order to set the flange for the toilet. Have to find the diverter/shower faucet stuff quickly, plumber needs too, oh and the vanity specs for the vanity that I have to find. Oh oh.
Work on my deck is still going on and looks good.

Friday
Will was on his own today working here and there. Melanie the Designgirl and Sami came by with some samples for flooring etc. I am going around in circles and decided help was needed to help me bring things together. Decisions to make are flying at us so got to get a move on.

Work has continued on my deck. Rain as usual and the roofers won't be coming back until there is a sunny day which could be April.

Week 13 - Day 58
Wednesday
Snowed last night but it has now turned to slush and rain. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stops these carpenters from the..however it goes. Gabe is working on the new landing for the new deck stairs.

Work on the backyard deck has kept them busy today. Of course, the original deck is not level, so not sure how they will disguise that. They started digging for the posts for the new stairs. Oh, it is going to be a treat to be able to get to the backyard from the deck. The fact I have no access to that deck is still an issue, since the city won't allow a set of stairs from my deck down to this level.

Week 12 - Weekend
They are going to put in the new deck stairs soon, so had to move some plants out of the way. Should have done that long time ago, looks better, or maybe it is just nice to have a change.

Cat followed me around all day. No bad men around and he misses his home upstairs. He seems to really like the new deck upstairs.

Cleaned up the basement today. So much better. You get used to the mess but after awhile it wears on you.

Nice rainy, windy night as usual.
Funny I didn't get pictures, but remember me mentioning the drain that they put in my deck that goes throught the floor to Linda's kitchen? Well, doesn't take much to figure out what happened. Linda was up in the middle of the night mopping etc and I slept peacefully through it all. The back was flooded a bit too, the drains are plugged from dirt and debris but only got a picture of the last bit of it. All back to normal now.

This is where the original stairs for the main floor deck came up. We knew they were rotten but never bothered to address it because we were going to renovate. Combination of rot, wood bugs and wasps. Classic.
