Merry Christmas from Lulu, too!

Merry Merry Christmas !

Week 11 - Day 51

Wednesday
Hockey puck spacers.  I just love the idea that my house is made with hockey pucks. This is the ledger that will support the deck.  We have something like 7 layers of shingles on the outside of the house, so this was a work around of sorts. Makes me chuckle.

Week 11 - Day 51

Wednesday
Demo and framing are coming to an end and they seem to be doing things here and there.

Not sure what this is called, other than architectural detail,
between the living and dining room on the main floor.

John the door man came by to measure doorways.

Gabe installing flashing over one of the patio doors.

Framing for pocket door in main floor kitchen.

Lulu

Don't bug me.

Week 11 - Day 50

Tuesday

Second batch of levelling compound didn't bond,
but Will
fixed it up.

Pocket door framing for upstairs laundry room.

Week 11 - Day 50

Tuesday
You know you're in Canada when hockey pucks are used in the building of houses.

Week 11 - Day 50

Tuesday
Today has been a continuation of yesterday.  Gabe is working on the outside deck.  The stairs are gone and he is preparing to close in that area. New stairs to the back yard will be located on the other side of the french doors.

Week 11 - Day 49

Monday
Will continuing the floor levelling in the kitchen

Pocket door opening for my laundry room upstairs

Week 11 - Day 49

Monday
Oh boy oh boy.  We have waited a long time for this.  The stairs off the deck came down today. They lead to the side of the house and not the back yard, hence the need for the cat-a-ramp. Apparently, it more or less came down on it's own. They were pretty much rotten when we took possession, so not surprising.  The deck was fully enclosed at one time and we had been chipping away at it in order to gain a view of the backyard.

Week 11 - Day 49

Monday
The rain has held off this week, despite the weatherman and his opinion.  But when my new deck is ready, I think I can give a better weather report from there.  Gabe did some final prepping before the roofer comes to do the torch-on for the roof and deck.  Now that the holidays are just around the corner, things like this will need to wait till the new year.

Week 10 - Weekend

Linda had a burst of energy and took down the lath and plaster in the hallway on the main floor.  Makes for an exciting picture, but that is all to report.  We ran around a bit this weekend to source some stuff out and that all folks.

Week 10 - Day 48

Friday
Lunch time.  Satay chicken, mmmm.  That I can handle, but had some technical issues around the rice, but we all ate it anyway. All in all, not too bad for a laundry room kitchen.

Week 10 - Day 48

Friday
Will has been working on levelling the floor in the main floor kitchen. Finally, the duct tape comes out.
